Radiant Pavilion Exhibition "Home" by Robyn Wernicke

Radiant Pavilion Exhibition "Home" by Robyn Wernicke

My new exhibition work "Home" will be available to view at DiMase Architects (across the road from our Fitzroy North store), from September 19th to October 19th.

This new body of work titled “Home” looks at memories and their containment in the form of a box, it houses not only our memories but our hopes, dreams, joy and sorrow.

We mark these occasions both privately and with friends and family within our homes. The small scale sculptural pieces are an altar based on the humble birthday candle holder which can be removed to be used on a cake or lit in place.

The sculptures simultaneously act as a receptacle to place a flower or small object to commemorate, worship or meditate on the occasion whilst referencing the home environment with the carved leg details.

It can be said that the box is also indicative not only of our home but also our mind, it can be open or closed to change, commiseration, celebration, joy or grief. A wondrous nod to the fact that we are not trapped within our box, it is fluid.

For anyone interested in adding one of these beautiful pieces to their collection, please email Robyn directly at robyn@smallspace.com.au for pricing and other information.
